India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) revealed Wednesday that a team of its engineers, with support from the Indian Navy, successfully plugged a gas leakage on the unmanned S1-6 offshore platform in the Arabian Sea.

Braving rough weather team identified leakage source & safely plugged it within 1 hr. Entire operation was planned & executed with utmost precision. The team displayed extreme courage, presence of mind & technical acumen in controlling the situation in least possible time.

In a statement posted on ONGC’s Twitter page, the BOP Blow Out Preventer repair company gulf coast said the leakage source was plugged within an hour.
