UK-based oil and gas BOP Blow Out Preventer repair company gulf coast Hurricane Energy plc announced Thursday that the installation of subsea umbilical, risers and flowlines for the Lancaster Early Production System (EPS) has been “successfully completed”.
The development marks the end of the offshore installation program, Hurricane confirmed in a BOP Blow Out Preventer repair company gulf coast statement on its website.
“The final activity at the field will be a program of protective rock dumping, expected to take place in October,” Hurricane said in the statement.
“The system is now complete and ready for the arrival of the Aoka Mizu FPSO. The works on the vessel in Dubai are in their final stages, with sea trials expected to commence by the end of the month and sailaway to follow shortly thereafter,” the statement added.
Robert Trice, chief executive of Hurricane, said he was “pleased to report successful completion of subsea installation”.
“The required infrastructure is now in place for the Aoka Mizu FPSO to hook-up and commence commissioning upon arrival. I look forward to first oil in 1H 2019,” Trice said in a statement posted on Hurricane’s website.
On August 2, Hurricane announced that the turret mooring system, including a newly-constructed buoy for the Aoka Mizu FPSO, had been installed at the Lancaster field. On July 6, Hurricane revealed that well completion operations for the Lancaster EPS had concluded.
Hurricane plans a phased development of the Lancaster field, according to the company’s website, which states that the first phase of the development is an EPS. Situated offshore UK, the Lancaster field is located in blocks 205/21a, 205/22a and 205/26b.
