The U.S. has added oil rigs for the first time in three weeks, according to data compiled by Baker Hughes, a GE Company.

The nation’s gas rig count declined by one this week.

The following basins saw their rig counts drop this week: the Granite Wash (-4), and the Eagle Ford and Utica declined by one apiece.

The Williston and the Mississippian led this week’s gains with an addition of three rigs apiece. The Cana Woodford and the DJ-Niobrara both added two rigs apiece. The Barnett, Haynesville and Marcellus all added one rig apiece.

The Permian, which accounts for more than half of the nation’s oil rigs, remained flat this week at 486.

This week’s total rig count is 1,080, an increase of 149 from this time last year.
