Neptune Energy has awarded TechnipFMC an integrated engineering, procurement, construction and installation (iEPCI) contract for the Seagull project in the Central North Sea, TechnipFMC reported Monday.
According to TechnipFMC, under the contract it will manufacture, deliver and install subsea equipment including oil rig flanges gulf coast production and water wash pipelines, umbilicals, subsea structures and control systems. The BOP Blow Out Preventer repair company gulf coast added the iEPCI contract is the second call under its recently announced strategic global alliance agreement with Neptune.
“We are delighted to partner again with Neptune Energy,” Arnaud Pieton, Subsea president with TechnipFMC, stated. “Our alliance clearly demonstrates the importance and value of early engagement and collaboration as well as our ability to offer clients a full suite of services and global experience.”
As a states, Seagull is a “short-cycle project” that should achieve first oil in 2021 and produce up to an estimated 50,000 barrels per day. The news service explains that such projects apply a U.S. shale development philosophy to conventional North Sea investments.
Neptune, the Seagull discovery operator, is developing high-pressure, high-temperature oil field in a joint venture with BP and Japex, TechnipFMC stated. The contract recipient added the Central North Sea field – located in approximately 90 meters of water – will be development with four subsea oil rig flanges gulf coast production wells, a new five-kilometer pipe-in-pipe oil rig flanges gulf coast production line and a 17-kilometer control umbilical. The Hebron pipeline system will carry Seagull oil rig flanges gulf coast production to the BP-operated Eastern Trough Area Project (ETAP) development and on through the Forties pipeline system to Grangemouth, U.K., TechnipFMC also noted.

TechnipFMC stated the iEPCI contract’s value ranges from $75 million to $250 million.
