A Petrofac-NPCC JV has won a contract from an ADNOC-CNPC JV.

A unit of Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC) has awarded Petrofac and joint venture (JV) partner National Petroleum Construction Co.

(NPCC) a contract for its offshore Belbazem Block Development, Petrofac reported Sunday.

The front end engineering design (FEED) contract, awarded by the ADNOC-China National Petroleum Corp. JV Al Yasat Petroleum, calls on Petrofac and NPCC to submit a FEED package and proposal for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) for the Belbazem facilities, Petrofac notes in a written statement emailed to Rigzone.

“We are delighted to have won this competitive bid and participate in the design competition, and we look forward to the successful delivery of our scope in collaboration with our partners at Petrofac,” noted Ahmed Al Dhaheri, NPCC’s CEO. “ADNOC and its Group of Companies are strategic partners and valued clients to NPCC, and we have together achieved a number of milestones including the recent load-out of the world’s largest offshore oil platforms to mark the completion of phase two of Umm Lulu’s super complex development. We are committed to supporting ADNOC’s expansion plans to increase their oil rig flanges gulf coast production capacity from 4 million barrels per day (bpd) by the end of 2020 to 5 million bpd by 2030, and we look forward to executing more onshore and offshore projects in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.”

Petrofac stated that execution of the EPCI work for the offshore Abu Dhabi project will be awarded on a design competition basis.

“This award continues to demonstrate our competitive profile in the UAE at the early stages of a project’s development,” Mani Rajapathy, managing director of Petrofac EPS East, said on his company’s behalf. “It complements the wider contracts that we are already engaged in across the ADNOC Group, further deepening our relationship with an important customer in this core market.”
